Clerksip!!!!

It's been almost 2 months since I began my clerkship program here in UST. DId I learn anything? Maybe... It's the clerks task to fix the patient's papers for admission, reserve a room (or would 'bed' would be a more appropriate term for our setting?) where the patient (and the clerk, of course) would be most comfortable to, make sure the laboratory requessts are done, make sure he is broought to x-ray, ultrasound, CT scan, MRI or whatever imaging modality he needs, make sure he is receiving his medicines and last and definitely the most distasteful job for me....MONITORING. With all these things that you have to do you still have to read your case, make sure you are ready for the morning rounds and ready to answere any question about your patient, your patient's problems and medications that yopur resident might ask you. It could be physically draining that you come home almost everyday (when you're not on duty of course) wanting to take a good 1 hour to 2 hour nap only to find out that you actually had a good 12 hours of sleep. You then hurry to fix your self for yet another day of clerksip.
